Four Pathways for Resilient Mountain Futures
● Thematic Research-Action AreasThrough its research-action approach, MountMed bridges policy, knowledge, and practice, enabling strategy to translate into concrete interventions. The Institute structures its research, education and action around four interlinked thematic priority areas that are critical for the resilience, adaptation, economic diversification, social cohesion, innovation, health and well-being of mountain territories, as well as for the conservation and valorisation of biodiversity and natural and cultural resources.
These areas address the main challenges and opportunities of Mediterranean island mountain territories and provide the framework through which projects, partnerships, research activities, and field interventions are organised. Each thematic area functions as a field of knowledge, experimentation and implementation.
